LAKE DAY!

I went down to Nephi with Jeremy to visit his family and have a lake/boating day at Mona Reservoir!

Our boating trip got off to a silly start because after we had just launched out into the reservoir, we noticed there was water at the bottom of the boat. After his dad reassured us he had just checked and made sure he put the plug back in before we took off, we noticed the water was rising. We drove back to the shore and pulled the boat back on to the trailer, and sure enough, the boat didn't have the plug in it! We were essentially sinking in the middle of the reservoir but telling ourselves we weren't! It was funny.

I just laid out and relaxed in the front of the boat, but the others rode on the wake board, and water skis and things. I just felt like being lazy. :)

We had a picnic back on shore of sandwiches, cantaloupe, chips, and oreos (which I don't really care for normally, but they were soooo good that day!)

It was such a fun, relaxing day on the water under the sun. I love a good boat day!

I just love summer. :)

SUMMER VACATION IS HERE!

You guys! Summer vacation is officially here! I had my last day of work last Friday and now it's easy breezy fun summer vacation ahead! I'm seriously so happy about it!

It's so funny that as soon as I stopped working I quickly reverted back to my teenage years. I instantly started staying up late again and feeling how I felt when I was a teenager! Just a few months ago, I was totally falling asleep on the couch while watching TV at 9:00 p.m. and Jeremy would have to wake me up and help me to bed. Now I'm just reverting back to my old night owl ways again, but I secretly really love it! I feel like a creative part of my brain gets turned on at night, and I really like that side of myself!

I think I just love the idea of having a summer vacation again! I haven't had a summer vacation for a few years so it's been a blast so far! I finally get to work on the creative side of my life more. I get to blog more, start up my vlogs again, schedule more photoshoots, and work on all the things I've been meaning to be better at.

I'm also so excited to be able to work on my garden more, travel around the country in my Fit, have more time for people, and just focus on the things that really matter to me.

It's so easy to get stuck in the routine of life and a full-time job, especially when it's one that isn't really fulfilling your dream, so it's nice to have that moment to re-evaluate your life and what's important to you. I'm re-assessing how I spend my free time, and what I truly want out of my life and it really is so refreshing and invigorating!

I've only been unemployed a few days, but I already feel so much happier and lighter! I know it won't last forever so I'm definitely soaking it all in while I can!

Yay for summer! And yay for refreshing life re-evaluations!

PIT STOP IN BEND, OREGON.

On our drive through Oregon, we took a little pit stop in Bend, Oregon to check out a coffee shop. Bend was such a cute city, and this coffee shop was the perfect little stop on our roadtrip! We got to stretch our legs, see part of the town, and enjoy one of the best mochas I've ever had! Oh my gosh, it was so good! And it was iced on a hot sunny day and that was so refreshing and just what I needed.

I don't know the next time I'll be back in Bend, but I can't wait to go back to Spoken Moto to get another iced mocha in the cutest little glass! It was such a cute coffee shop! If you're ever just passing through Bend and you have some free time, take a break, have a seat on the cute green couch, and enjoy a yummy mocha.

It was just an all around peaceful, sunny, cool coffee shop/motorcycle shop.

THIS PAST WEEKEND

This past weekend was one of those that I felt like I did a lot of fun things, but when people ask "How was your weekend?" I can't think of anything to tell them. That used to happen a lot in school too. On Mondays, everyone would ask how my weekend was and I could never remember any fun things I did; I blame it on my bad memory. Like even if I did a really cool thing, I would never remember it until they already walked away and I thought "Why didn't I tell them about the cool concert in San Francisco?!" Etc.

I also don't have any photos from this whole weekend because I kind of unknowingly boycotted my phone this weekend which was actually really nice! I constantly just kept leaving it in another room while I was home, or in my purse while I was out. It's kind of nice to just forget about phones for a bit. We're all way too dependent on them.

Sunday morning Jeremy and I went to Lagoon to ride a few rides! It had been a while since we went last, so I just was in the mood to go to Lagoon again. We are practically an 80 year old couple because one of our favorite rides is the train ride. We rode that twice actually!

Saturday, Jeremy and I met a friend at Tulie to visit. After coffee, we went to lunch at R&R BBQ with Forrest and my mama which is always such a yummy place! The pulled pork sandwich and mac and cheese are so good, you guys!

We also watched a lot of Seinfeld this weekend which I LOVED! I really love Seinfeld and Jeremy is just barely getting into it for the first time so it's fun to have 9 seasons of shows to watch all over again with him! Seinfeld is seriously so good, and crazy just how relevant it still feels today! I don't really notice the age of the show like I do other 90s shows.

It was just an easy going weekend of Lagoon, yummy food, and Seinfeld. What more could I want. :)

A PICNIC IN LITTLE COTTONWOOD.

Saturday, my Mama made a lot of yummy food, and my family went up to Little Cottonwood Canyon for a picnic! We had good picnic food too! She made pesto, chicken salad sandwiches, and a couple of different kinds of a salad.

It was the nicest temperature up there and so nice to escape the heat for a bit! We went up to the top of Little Cottonwood to Albion Basin and found some logs to bring together to sit on and eat. We had our dinner and Jeremy gave pieces of bread to a little critter who kept coming by. I think he called it a potgut? He was cute whatever he was!

After we ate, we walked along the path up towards Cecret Lake. Jeremy and Forrest climbed rocks along the way, I took lots of photos, and picked too many wildflowers. It was just a really nice evening.

Sometimes I forget just how nice it is to go up the canyons. I always love it when I do, but sometimes I let too much time pass in between my trips up there. I'm going to make it a point to explore the canyons more and just escape the city a little more. I mean, this absolutely beautiful place is only 30 minutes from my house. I don't really have any excuses not to spend more time up there!

I also really want to start utilizing the canyons more with my photoshoots. The wildflowers and pine trees are just so lovely and I want to do more shoots up there.

Until next time, Little Cottonwood Canyon. :)

WEEKENDS + WEDDINGS.

This past weekend was so fun!

FRIDAY
It started off with my friend's Alex & Holly's wedding at La Caille on Friday!  The venue was beautiful and at the base of Little Cottonwood Canyon so the views of the mountains were just so beautiful!

It felt like a little Rexburg friend reunion and I loved every minute of it! It honestly kind of made me miss Rexburg too. Not so much the town but just that time of my life and having 30 really fun, good friends living in a mile radius of me. I guess I just have missed a lot of them more than I realized, so it was a pretty nostalgic night. It was also cute to meet friend's babies, and see ones who have grown what feels like 4 years in a matter of a year.

We ate yummy food. We danced. We had the yummiest little desserts! I'm talking mini pecan pie bites, mini key lime bites, and chocolate covered strawberries. So good! It was just a really fun night and I was so happy to see old friend who I hadn't seen in a couple years.

SATURDAY
Saturday I had checks to cash and since I'm still old fashion I have to actually take them to the bank to get them cashed. I should get that mobile deposit thing though. So I went to City Creek to get that done and decided to walk across the street to Temple Square to walk around. I hadn't done that in a while so it was lovely to be able to just walk around on my own and sit by the fountain watching all the bride and grooms take photos. I always really enjoy watching other photographers at Temple Square to see how they direct and engage with their clients.

I also got myself a little Lion House roll and honey butter and just sat outside on a bench in the sunshine eating it. I'm so glad they let you just buy one! It's one dollar on the dot if you're curious.

SUNDAY
Jeremy and I usually eat at The Park either Saturday or Sunday morning, but this Sunday morning we decided just to do cereal and poptarts at home while we watched a little bit of Orange is the New Black! We then went to Blue Copper for coffee and bagels.

Then it was time for Lagoon! I'm so happy that Jeremy is always willing to go to Lagoon when I suggest it. We've been three times this year and it's so fun each time!
My favorite rides lately are: Cannibal, Turn of the Century (the swings), and an airplane ride that I'm not sure the name of. It's the one where you can control your own little airplane propeller to make yourself swing higher as the ride goes. That one is so fun but always slightly scary because we make ourselves go too high and it starts to kind of snap at the cables.

Also I know I'm getting older because Jeremy and I both willingly killed about an hour in Pioneer Village just walking around and going in all the shops to look at the old artifacts. I know if I was any younger than I am now I would have been annoyed by the fact that we were spending time looking at all the old buildings and carriages instead of going on rides, but we both were just loving it so much! We saw all the old carriages, went inside the printing press shop, and looked at all the old merchandise and clothing from the late 1800s. We really were acting like a cute little old couple just happy as can be in Pioneer Village. :)
